Donation Terms
Last updated: 14 October 2026
These terms apply to online donations made through zarokhub.be. By submitting the donation form, you accept these terms. Please read them before you donate. If you have any questions, you can always reach us at [email protected].
1. Who receives your donation?
Your donation is received by ZAROK HUB VZW, a registered Belgian non-profit association (vereniging zonder winstoogmerk).
Enterprise number (KBO/BCE): 1037.330.866
Address: Oude Vijversstraat 40, 1190 Brussels (Vorst/Forest), Belgium

2. What is a donation?
Every payment you make through our website is a voluntary gift to support the work of our association. You receive no goods or services in return; a donation is not a purchase.
Donations made by bank transfer to the account shown on our donation page are also gifts with nothing given in return. Sections 2, 3, 8 and 10 of these terms also apply to them.
3. How your donation is used
Our association is dedicated to children around the world. We focus in particular on Kurdish children living in Europe, including orphaned children and children from low-income families. We use donations for work that serves this mission, such as arts workshops, children's books, theatre, learning materials and other cultural and educational activities.
Donations are used for the association's general purposes. Your donation is not set aside for a specific project, activity or person, and we do not guarantee such use.
4. Types of donation and amounts
- One-time donation: minimum €1, maximum €10,000.
- Monthly donation: minimum €1, maximum €1,000 per month.
All donations are in euros (EUR). If your account is in another currency, your bank or card issuer may charge currency conversion fees.
5. Payment methods and Stripe
Payments are processed by our payment service provider, Stripe. When you submit the donation form, you are taken to Stripe's secure payment page (checkout.stripe.com). You enter your card or bank details only on that page; they never reach the association.
We offer the following payment methods:
- debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.);
- Apple Pay and Google Pay;
- Link (Stripe's service for saving payment details);
- Bancontact (one-time donations only);
- SEPA Direct Debit (monthly donations only).
The methods shown on the payment page may vary depending on your device, browser or country. Payments from a bank account (SEPA) may take several business days, sometimes up to about two weeks, to be confirmed.
6. Receipts
Once your payment is complete, Stripe sends a payment receipt to the email address you entered on the donation form. This receipt confirms your payment; it is not a tax certificate (see section 10).
7. Monthly donations and cancellation
When you choose a monthly donation, the first payment is initiated when you donate. After that, the amount you chose is collected automatically every month until you cancel.
You can cancel your monthly donation at any time, without giving a reason and free of charge:
- Yourself, online: use the link for managing your monthly donation on the donation page or on the thank-you page. The link opens Stripe's customer portal. When you enter your email address, Stripe emails you a login link. In the portal you can manage and cancel your monthly donation.
- By email: write to [email protected], giving the name and email address you used for the donation. We will cancel it as soon as possible. We will confirm the cancellation by email.
When does cancellation take effect? No new monthly payment is collected after you cancel. Payments made before cancellation are not refunded. If a payment is still collected after your cancellation request has reached us, we will always refund it (see section 8).
If you pay by SEPA Direct Debit, you can also stop future debits by instructing your bank. Even so, please cancel in one of the ways above so that your monthly donation also ends in our records.
SEPA Direct Debit mandate
If you pay your monthly donation by SEPA Direct Debit, on Stripe's payment page you authorise ZAROK HUB VZW and Stripe, our payment service provider, to collect regular payments from your bank account (a SEPA mandate). Stripe will email you the amount and date of each debit at least 2 calendar days before the debit (as stated in the mandate you accept on Stripe's payment page).
8. Refunds
As donations are voluntary gifts, they are in principle not refunded if you later change your mind. For mistaken transactions, the following rules apply.
Mistakes on our side or Stripe's
If a payment was taken because of an error by us or by Stripe, for example the same donation was charged more than once, the amount processed differs from the amount you chose, or a payment was still collected after you cancelled, we will always refund that amount. Please let us know as soon as you notice.
Mistakes on your side
If you entered the wrong amount or made a donation you did not intend to make, please write to [email protected] within 14 days of the transaction date, and we will refund the amount concerned.
Please include your name, the email address used for the donation, and the date and amount of the donation. The refund is made to the payment method you used. Depending on your bank, it may take a few business days to appear in your account.
Your statutory rights with your bank
These terms do not limit the statutory rights you have with your bank or card issuer. In particular:
- SEPA Direct Debit: you can ask your bank to refund a SEPA debit from your account, without giving a reason, within 8 weeks of the date it was debited. If a debit was unauthorised, you must notify your bank without undue delay, and no later than 13 months after the debit date.
- Card payments: if you believe your card was charged without your permission, you can contact the bank that issued your card.
If something goes wrong, we would appreciate hearing from you first; we can usually resolve things directly and quickly. A refund from your bank may not automatically cancel your monthly donation. If you do not want any further debits, please also cancel your monthly donation.
9. Right of withdrawal
A donation is not a payment for goods or services. For this reason, in our view the 14-day right of withdrawal that consumer law provides for distance sales does not apply to donations. The refund options in section 8 and your statutory rights with your bank remain available in all cases.
10. Tax
ZAROK HUB VZW does not currently issue Belgian tax certificates (tax reduction certificate 281.71 / fiscaal attest) for donations. You will therefore not receive such a certificate for donations made through our website. If this changes, we will update these terms.
We cannot advise on how your donation is treated for tax purposes in other countries; please consult a tax adviser if needed.
11. What we ask of donors
We ask you to enter your own name and an email address that belongs to you and that you use, and to use only payment methods you are authorised to use.
Donations may only be made by persons aged 18 or over, or with the consent of a parent or guardian. If a minor has donated without such consent, a parent or guardian can contact us and we will refund the donation.
12. Personal data
You can read how we process the information you give us when donating in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with its last-updated date. Each donation is governed by the terms in force on the date it is made. If there is a significant change that affects your ongoing monthly donation, we will let you know by email in advance. If you do not accept the change, you can cancel your monthly donation at any time.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Belgian law. This choice does not deprive you of the protection given to consumers by the mandatory rules of the country where you habitually live.
If a dispute arises, please contact us first and we will try to resolve it amicably. If it cannot be resolved, the courts of Brussels have jurisdiction, without prejudice to your right as a consumer to bring proceedings in the courts of the place where you live.
