OUR WORLD: Our Dreams, Our Preparations and Our First Gatherings
At Zarok Hub, we are only at the very start of our journey. Busy preparations are under way behind the scenes, and something special is cooking here: a joyful, inclusive and free world, not only for Kurdish children but for every child we reach.
Every step we take and every project we prepare rests on two core principles: Gender Equality and, with no ifs or buts, the Best Interests of the Child.
With that excitement, here is the world we are shaping together right now:
Living Culture and Art: We are taking culture out of the museum display case and turning it into a joy that children can touch and live.
- Living Workshops: We are creating a wide space for making things, from food gatherings where children get their hands in the dough and music sessions where they feel the rhythm, to drama where stories come alive and painting days where colours speak.
- Stage and Performance: We blend the joyful rhythm of the govend with modern dance and theatre, and bring our culture to children around the world through international festivals.
- Bridges from Language to Life: We are taking Kurdish beyond being a language "spoken only at home" and making it the language of the street and of play. We are bringing outstanding works of Flemish children's literature into Kurdish and adapting Kurdish songs into Flemish and other languages, creating shared, multilingual ground for living together in Belgium.
- Interactive Media: Together with Zarok TV, we are developing an inclusive media language in which children are not just viewers in front of a screen but the creators of the games and content themselves.
